Grants FAQ

How much can we apply for?+
Grants typically range from £5,000 to £50,000. First grants are usually at the smaller end of that range while we get to know each other.
When can we apply?+
We fund in two rounds each year — spring and autumn. Dates are announced on this page and by email; join our mailing list and we will tell you the moment a round opens.
How long does a decision take?+
We acknowledge every application within five working days, and aim to share an outcome — either way — within eight weeks of a round closing.
Can we apply for core costs?+
Yes. We actually prefer it — unrestricted funding lets small charities thrive, not just survive. Salaries, rent and running costs are all eligible.
Can we reapply if unsuccessful?+
Yes, at any future round. Where we can, we share brief feedback so your next application is stronger.
What reporting will you ask for?+
Honest and proportionate — a short update once a year telling us what happened, what you learned and what changed. No 40-page reports.
Do you fund outside the UK?+
Yes. Our current partners work across Nigeria and the UK, and we consider work in our international priority regions.
